Studio — How it works

A structured process built to handle complexity without oversimplification.

Studio work is led through a disciplined, insight-led process. The emphasis throughout is on judgement, restraint and coherence.

01

In-depth discovery and narrative development

Discovery goes beyond brief-gathering. We hold extended conversations, review existing materials and develop a deep understanding of the environment the work will live in — including its sensitivities, its audiences and what failure looks like. Narrative development happens before production begins, not during it.

02

Clear creative direction before production begins

Nothing is left ambiguous before we shoot. We define the story, the creative approach and the editorial intent in writing. This clarity protects the work under pressure — from competing agendas, from last-minute changes, and from the kind of creative drift that compromises high-stakes films.

03

Controlled filming or animation, where appropriate

Production is shaped by what the work needs, not by habit or default. We choose our approach — interview, observational, scripted, animation, or hybrid — based on what will carry the content most credibly. In sensitive contexts, control and restraint are not limitations. They are craft decisions.

04

Campaign-level thinking, not one-off assets

Studio work is designed to be used over time and across contexts. We think about how films sit alongside each other, how they build understanding and belief, and what supporting materials the work might require. A film that exists in isolation is rarely as effective as one designed within a wider programme.

05

Toolkits designed to support ongoing use

Delivery is not the end of the engagement. We provide assets designed to work in context — which may include usage guidance, conversation frameworks, supporting materials or briefing documents for internal facilitators. The work is designed to keep working after the handover.

The principles that guide Studio work

What we bring to every project

Judgement over formula

Every brief is different. We apply thinking, not templates — particularly where the stakes are high and the margin for error is narrow.

Restraint as a creative strength

In high-scrutiny environments, what you leave out matters as much as what you include. We treat restraint as an editorial discipline, not a limitation.

Coherence across the programme

Individual films don't exist in isolation. We design for how work sits together — in sequence, in context and over time.

Senior leadership, end to end

The people who shape the brief are the people who deliver the film. There is no handoff to junior teams at the point where experience matters most.
